Club Runs

Club Runs

Club runs are one of the core activities of the club, they are an entry level ride and are tailored to suit most riders.

These rides follow the ethos of travelling at the pace of the slowest rider and are designed to allow the rider to learn the signing and skills involved in group riding whilst building their confidence. They are social rides that usually involve a cafe stop and allows everyone the chance for everyone to chat and get to know one another.

Rides are posted on the club Facebook page every week and usually leave the club house at 9:30 but always refer to the FB page for updates.

Reliability Trials

These are a specific type of ride that tests the riders ability to keep a constant average speed over a set distance. The average speed should be 12.5 mph, an example of one of these rides is as follows;

50 in 4 (50 miles in 4 hours) The idea is that the rider sets off on a predetermined course of 50 miles and has to get back to the club house or finish in 4 hours. There is some lee way on this as the rider is allowed to arrive up to 20 minutes before the 4 hours but not a second after.

Other distances include;

75 in 6

100 in 8

In 2019 the dates for these rides are as follows;

50 in 4  6th April
75 in 6  16th June
100 in 8  4th August
50 in 4   6th October
