Hand signals

 Safety Warning Signals

·                   Left arm straight out – Turn Left.

·                   Right arm straight out – Turn Right.

·                   Pointing to ground indicates hazard – Left or Right e.g. pothole.

 

 

 

 

 

·                   Arm behind back indicates moving out left or right due to larger hazard e.g. car.

 

 

 

 

 

 

·                   Before altering position on road look over shoulder, observe for other traffic. (Always indicate so other road users know your intentions.)

·                   Arm slightly out to side, palm of hand pointing back indicates slowing down e.g. traffic lights.

·                   Listen out for verbal commands e.g. car up/car down, single file.

·                   Always be aware using peripheral vision.

·                   Keep an eye on riders two or three positions ahead.

·                   Never ride three abreast!
